About Me

💬 My Approach

I work in an integrative way, which means I do not have one set way of working. I adapt my approach as I get to know someone, to make sure the way I work is most helpful for what is going on in your life and what you are thinking and feeling.

🎨 Creative Expression

I have a music degree and I enjoy playing the piano, drawing and painting in my spare time. I use creative activities with the people I work with, if they want to express themselves in that way. You always have a choice about what we do when we work together and if you do not want to do creative work, you can say no.

🖊️ Professional Registration

I am registered with the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).

Being a BACP registered counsellor means I have completed proper training to be a counsellor and that I follow the BACP's rules about how to keep the people I work with safe. I have regular sessions with a supervisor to make sure I do my job well and to keep learning so I can give the best help possible.

🎓 Experience

I have over 20 years of experience working with neurodivergent young people in a variety of different settings including mainstream schools, enhanced provisions in mainstream schools, specialist provisions, play-based settings, and a post-diagnostic service.

I value the opportunity to get to know each person I work with and to try to understand how they see the world. Over the years, the people I have worked with have taught me a great deal and they continue to shape and improve my work.
